In Case of Emergency Cards

Knowing who is attending an activity and having access to their contact details is important in case of an emergency. One way that walk leaders can do this, is by asking participants to carry In Case of Emergency (ICE) cards. The cards are free and available from our Group Chair - Sheila.

For further information about the cards and alternatives visit the Ramblers website.

Generic Risk Assessment

Current Ramblers guidance requires each Group to conduct a Generic Risk Assessment that covers their walks. Evesham Ramblers assessment is attached below. The assessment is closely based on the template provided by Ramblers, but with some small changes of wording to better suit our particular circumstances. It has been previously circulated to Walk Leaders and has subsequently been reviewed and endorsed by the Evesham Ramblers Committee on 24/09/2024. Any queries or comments, please contact Donna

Accidents and Emergencies

The Ramblers have refreshed the Incident Report Form for incidents involving injury, property damage or near misses. The form now requires you to confirm the walk grading and what emergency services were involved, if any. The form can be downloaded from the Document Library and the Ramblers Contact Us webpage. Please start using this refreshed form going forwards.

And remember, incidents need to be reported to Ramblers as soon as possible (within 10 days of the incident occurring). If there is a serious incident, this needs to be reported to the group secretary and Ramblers on the same day the incident takes place. Then complete our incident report form and contact Ramblers on This email address is being protected from spambots.  Expense Claims

Walk Leaders may, if they wish, make a claim for travel expenses incurred when carrying out a recce for a walk that they have committed to lead.

The rules, as agreed by Evesham Ramblers Committe, are:

  • Claims must be agreed prior to making the Recce
  • No claim can be more than £10
  • Evesham Ramblers funds are limited, so not all claims may be granted
